On behalf of the client, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to join the company as a Data Engineer. You'll be meeting a distinct need and will be responsible for independently managing and driving data priorities forward -- making a large-scale impact across all Engineering and Business functions.
Requirements
2 years minimum working with data-intensive projects
Must be able to work and write scripts to move and manipulate data - Python preferred but open to Golang
Previous work experience for a product company
Independent worker -- as the company's only Data Engineer it's imperative that this candidate can independently drive forward data priorities
Fluent English (B2 at the very minimum, ideally C1)
Extra points/pluses
Technical background (ideally Computer Science, but any technical studies acceptable e.g., Physics, Electronics, Telecommunication, ...)
Snowflake experience
Experience building reports in a BI tool like Looker, Tableau, or Chart.io
StitchData experience
Responsibilities
Work independently to drive forward the company’s data priorities as the founding member of the company's data team (within the engineering team)
Design, develop and maintain ETL platforms (we currently use StitchData but may use others in the future) for various business use cases which are fault-tolerant, highly distributed, and robust
Work on structured, semi-structured data to put company data to business use
Analyze large sets of structured and semi-structured data for business analytics solution using cutting-edge and open source tools and techniques
Work with technical and non-technical team members to advise on data
Fully manage the data warehouse (Snowflake) and all of the data and structure within it
Build and execute queries and work with business intelligence team members to answer business questions utilizing data
