Project
You will join the Team that is responsible for developing and maintaining the identity (authentication) solution for all digital services in the company, currently with more than 40 million users. The solution is used by more than 80 different services, mostly inside the group, but increasingly also outside. The aim is to give the customers unmatched convenience without compromising security. The product has been live since 2015, with the biggest growth in the last two years. The team is still adding significant new functionality (e.g. the ability to use biometrics, or redesigning the password reset flow), but also needs to balance this against scaling and maintaining the existing solution. This is a high-volume application with more than 40 million signed-up users, 50.000 new users per day, up to 1.000.000 manual logins per day, and peaks with 200 logins per second.
You will
- Be part of distributed, multicultural, and agile tech/product team located in Kraków and Trondheim
- Be part of growing technical team (currently 13 engineers)
- Lead the team of three engineers located in Kraków – and take possibility for features delivery
- Together with the team located mainly in Trondheim work on building-related components – supporting company subscribers in Europe and Asia
- Design the new back-end features and extend the existing ones – supporting 50+ million company subscribers in Europe and Asia
- Work on modernization of infrastructure tools (AWS) as well on building brand new deployment pipelines
- Work with modern technical tools mainly from within AWS suite built with Terraform
- Cultivate the best coding practices and cooperate with experienced senior engineers
- Cooperate with surrounding product teams like Digital payments, Data platforms, and more
- Travel (when it’s possible again) to Oslo and Trondheim
- Work with Apple equipment (computer, keyboard, mouse)
Must have
- At least 6 years of experience with Java Back-end development
- Knowledge and interest in Identity systems
- Very good knowledge of REST architectural style and OAuth protocol
- Experience, interest, and strong knowledge of Infrastructure tools (AWS)
- Experience with infrastructure as a code approach (ideally Terraform)
- Faultless interpersonal skills as well as fluent communication in English
- Java, large portfolio of AWS tools, Postgresql, Terraform, concurrency, and multithreading
- Knowledge of Lean and Agile software development methodologies (beyond Scrum)
- Ability to deliver the new features independently, without strong supervision, and be the leader of the local technical team
