We are looking for a Data Engineer for an algorithmic trading and asset management company headquartered in Singapore, with technology development offices in Singapore and Amsterdam, to play a lead role in how to gather and digest data. You’ll work closely with co-founders to source and analyse data to enable the company to systematically improve the decision-making process and utilize data to drive new business decisions.
The founding team has over 15 years of experience at industry-leading companies (Citadel Investment Group, BCG, Shutterstock) and world-class universities (MIT, Princeton, The Wharton School of Business), and they are expanding rapidly by adding talented engineers to their team.
Requirements:
-3 years minimum working with data-intensive projects
-Previous experience building tooling in data-heavy environments
-Able to distil large sets of data
-Experience with SQL / Rest queries / GraphQL
-Independent worker - as the company's only Data Engineer it's imperative that this candidate can independently drive forward data priorities
-Fluent English (B2 at the very minimum, ideally C1)
The ideal candidate:
-Technical background (BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or equivalent experience)
-Programming experience in Python or C++ would be advantageous
-Experience with AWS beneficial
Responsibilities:
-Identify, validate and analyse data from distributed sources, including liaising with vendors
-Manage and improve our ETL pipeline for market and trade data
-Work with company founders to review how data is accessed and consumed, including predicting future usage needs
-Proactively find and integrate 3rd party data sources to help us make better decisions, quicker and more systematically
-Take ownership of our data platform, reviewing performance and utilisation both for current needs and the features of the data platform for the future
