Our Database Engineering team provides database expertise and services for activities necessary to implement and maintain database systems for the Global Product Development organization, delivering travel solutions across the enterprise. As Database Engineer in our team, you will be working on all activities necessary to implement and maintain database system for a product.
Responsibilities:
• Optimizes physical data structures, generates scripts to create database objects such as tables, partitions, indexes, views, sequences, etc.
• Performs database schema migrations - changes or rebuilds database objects as required, assists with impact analysis of any changes made
• Performs reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts
• Performs SQL review and performance tuning
• Creates and maintains Oracle databases required for development and testing usage (non-production environments)
• Responds to incident tickets and produces quick and effective solutions to technical problems
• Proactively monitors and fixes databases availability and performance issues
• Uses and develops database automation tools to automate repetitive tasks
• Provides technical assistance to development teams
Job Requirements:
• 3-5 years related experience including the experience with working with Oracle database systems (the level of the position will be adjusted to the candidate's knowledge and skills).
• Experience with the installation and support of Oracle database
• Experience implementing physical data models in an Oracle database
• Knowledge of SQL language
• Experience in database performance tuning troubleshooting
• Experience in development, execution and maintenance of automation scripts written in Python or other languages
• Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux from DBA perspective
• Basic knowledge of ITIL best practices and tools such as ServiceNow
