We're looking for Senior Web Developers for a US-Canadian startup that exists to make public sector information accessible and valuably actionable for and by their customers. They offer a platform that provides insights into topics of interest being discussed by local government organizations across North America so that their clients can easily find new opportunities and make strategic business decisions with more predictable outcomes.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Web Developer, creating complex HTML and SPA-based solutions
- Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, React, Node.js, and Express (or similar)
- Experience building complex asynchronous RESTful services
- Fluent knowledge of the latest web standards and best practices
- Deep understanding of web design, front-end optimization, and performance techniques
- Cross-browser development and troubleshooting, test-based approach to development
- Experience building responsive websites for web, tablet, and mobile devices
Responsibilities:
- Ability to translate Requirements, Wireframes, and Designs into functional web apps using HTML5, React (NextJS), Node.js (NestJS), and PostgreSQL
- Building reusable components and libraries for future use
- Creating RESTful services with Node.js
- Work in a cross-functional team to deliver a complete user experience
- Write code that is cross-platform and cross-device compatible
- Ability to wear many hats and learn new technologies quickly
Skills that set you apart:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commercial experience with NextJS or NestJS
- Integrations of search platforms like ElasticSearch
- Experience building out microservice architectures
- Twitter Bootstrap and SASS/LESS experience
- Typescript competencies
- DevOps experience
- Comfortable working with a variety of AWS services (Lambda, ECR, Route53, Secrets Manager, ELB, etc.)
