We are looking for a Middle/Senior Python developer to join our team.
Our customer is a global open information technology company focused on helping clients make meaningful changes with open data.
Their expertise lies in all elements of open data management:
- Data architecture including metadata, indexing, cataloging and dataset management;
- Web and UI design and development for dynamic data manipulation and visualization;
- Integration to a range of database and data management technologies, and data workflow development;
- Combining data management systems with content management systems;
- Cloud computing and hosted environments.
The company has a wide stack of programming languages and frameworks, React and Angular are periodically used, the layout is CSS (LESS and SASS).
Each developer on the team has enough knowledge of all the technologies to complete the tasks. Participation in the development of the CKAN (open-source) platform is actively encouraged.
Requirements:
- Python dev to work with CKAN platform (DMS for government sites, Australia) who is ready to be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating themes and modules. This position requires a combination of programming skills (Python, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the colour and font choices);
- Experience with responsive design and adaptive slicing, understanding of the entire Web development process (design, development and deployment is preferred);
- Stress tolerance and strong willingness to learn new technologies;
- Familiar with tools like google analytics, google maps etc. Django, PHP, Drupal, JavaScript frameworks will be a good bonus;
- English — Intermediate or higher.
Duties:
- Create, update and support of Python CKAN projects. Contribute to CKAN community;
- Build new extensions and themes. Configure site environments;
- Use Django and JavaScript and take part in appropriate projects.
