The project and the team
We are the IT Administration team at Codilime. Our responsibilities include supporting users and setting up and maintaining IT services in the company. We deal with virtual and physical servers, networks, many web services, host and network monitoring and automation.
Things to know about the role :
- The team consists of 5 people who support the Warsaw office, Gdansk office and remote users
- We provide IT support for 200+ employees using Jira Service Management
- We maintain hundreds of virtual machines on-premises and in the cloud (AWS, GCP and Azure) and dozens of bare metal servers
- We maintain the company network, internal services and VPN tunnels between locations
- We setup labs and learn new technologies on a regular basis
- We automate things with Ansible, Python scripts and Jenkins
- We work tightly with the InfoSec team and Office Administration team
Your role
As a part of the IT Administration team, you will be responsible for:
- Handling user requests using a ticket system
- Maintaining internal services and setting up new ones
- Maintaining and monitoring internal networks and hosts
- Helping other teams achieve their goals
Do we have a match?
As a Junior/Mid System and Network Administrator you must meet the following criteria:
- At least one year of experience working in a similar role
- Good communication skills, including communication with employees reporting IT issues
- Maintaining internal services and setting up new ones
- Good IT knowledge related to server and office equipment (desktop computers, servers, operating systems)
- Good knowledge of Linux (Debian-based or RedHat-based distributions)
- Knowledge of operating systems troubleshooting (Linux, Windows and MacOS)
- Good networking knowledge (LAN networks, IP/TCP stack, Firewall)
- Basic knowledge of at least one virtualization management system or cloud (Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V, oVirt, AWS, GCP or Azure)
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python or Bash)
- Communicative level of English (B1 level)
In addition to the criteria above, we would appreciate:
- Knowledge of containers (Docker, Podman or LXC)
- Experience working with automation, CI/CD (Ansible, Jenkins or Gitlab CI)
- Experience working with Jira products
