Technical Support Engineer - Remote

Overview:

Technical Support Engineer will ensure successful operation of development, test and production systems of client. The system is a security and data management platform. The engineer will work with a senior tech. support manager under a shift-based system and follow a plan of tasks that are assigned during the shift.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate as well as manage and define risk strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Role:

The individual should have experience and a high-level knowledge of Enterprise IT infrastructure and services such as compute (O / S, Applications, infrastructure, networking, storage (SAN, NAS, backup, archiving). The individual should be very comfortable with a Linux based, Oracle DB enterprise system. Candidate for this position will have demonstrated experience in operating large IT Infrastructure scale projects successfully. This position requires excellent IT technical knowledge of Linux, Oracle, PL / SQL, bash scripting, perl scripting.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and solve trouble shooting issues in Production, Test and Development Unix and Oracle systems.
Delivery and support within a corporate environment
Help solve problems for developers and users on the system by using scripts.
Develop PL / SQL script to do conversions.
Develop bash / perl scripts to make changes to unix / oracle systems.
Monitor performance of applications.
Identify and escalate project interdependencies

Skills:

Undergraduate Technical Degree
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience establishing and executing IT Infrastructure projects is required
Capability to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close on multiple cross-organizational technical project concurrently
Experience of working in an IT Operations service delivery environment for a Corporate or Service Provider organization, and / or, the delivery of a similar role as a senior / principle technical support engineer.
Strong collaboration skills

Remuneration: $ 20 - $ 30 USD p / h DOE
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shifts: 24/7 (3 different shifts)
Contract: B2B contract, Full-time, Permanent
